BC Jerky: a 2019 recap

Wow – 2019 has been one helluva ride. Even after copious amounts of careful planning (almost a years’ worth), Ashleigh and I could not have predicted the enormous amounts of support we’ve had from our family and friends, nor the positive and humbling response from our wonderful fans.

We officially started trading at the end of May, holding our ‘test’ market at our beloved Epping Rams home game down at Fortress Somerville. After that, we tackled our first farmer’s market, going live with 2 flavours, Chilli and Teriyaki. Since then, we’ve been to 30 farmer’s markets, launched our website, added 2 more jerky flavours to our range and launched our wholesale side of the business. We’ve met heaps new fans and made many new friends and we’re grateful for every single connection.

As touched on earlier, none of what we’ve accomplished thus far could have been possible without the help and support of our friends and family. Whilst everyone has been super supportive of our small business, a special mention must go to Steve Drury, Gareth Smith, Ryan Cabot, and Lloyd and Debbie Conn.

Goodbye 2019, you’ve been great to us. Hello 2020  - we can’t wait to see what you have install for us!
